We, the undersigned, call on President Trump and Congress to come to the negotiating table. We need a working federal government. TODAY.
FACT: Funding our government must be the result of bipartisan negotiations and compromise.
FACT: Trump and Republicans are holding the process hostage by pushing their-way-or-the-highway funding plan.
FACT: By refusing to come to the table, Republicans and the Trump administration are forcing this government shutdown.
FACT: Trump and Republicans’ shutdown is halting critical services that keep our communities safe and are designed to keep our air and water clean.
FACT: Trump and Republicans’ shutdown makes families less safe, threatens local economies that depend on fishing and tourism, and gives polluters a free pass with less oversight and accountability.
THEREFORE, we call on President Trump and the Republican-controlled Senate and House of Representatives to come to the negotiating table TODAY.
